CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Betty J. Weems, Charleston Route 3, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Revs. Orval McKinney and Mike Cartwright will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Weems, 54, died Sunday, March 19, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 12, 1941, in Rosedale, Miss., daughter of Bill and Pearl Cook. She and Jerry Weems were married Sept. 11, 1969, at Wyatt.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, William Hammer of Blodgett, Kevin Hammer of Chicago; four daughters, Theresa Bradham of Paducah, Ky., Carla Everett and Lisa Shands of Charleston, Amanda Weems of the home; her mother, Pearl Eddleman of Charleston, and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.
