Betty Jane Keay Houk, 87, of Cape Girardeau died peacefully Thursday, April 4, 2013, at her home. She was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Charleston, Mo. Betty Jane Keay Houk, 87, of Cape Girardeau died peacefully Thursday, April 4, 2013, at her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Charleston, Mo. She moved to Bismarck, Mo., as a young child and made her home there many years.

Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bismarck, Mo., and was an officer of the Sabylla Chapter 276 Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane (Terry) Wright of Cape Girardeau; three granddaughters, Kelli (Tim) Wileman, Rhenda (Jesse) Cortor and Robyn (Charles) Pace; two great-grandchildren, Josh and Lucy; a sister, Norma Kraus; many nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Raymond P. Keay and C. Rayburn Houk; her parents, Tom and Anna Brown Tinsley; a son, Thomas P. Keay; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Rose Pace; four brothers, Dolvin E. Tinsley, Frank B. Tinsley, William T. Tinsley and Thomas G. Tinsley; and four sisters, Beulah Ursini, Mae Cottle, Ruth Bauer and Georgia Dace.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Shipman Funeral Home in Bismarck.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bismarck United Methodist Church.
