A native of Cape Girardeau, Harper had lived in Stockton 48 years. She retired from San Joaquin Probation Department in 1974. She was a member of Stockton Water Ski Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Nanci King of West Lafayette, Ind.; a sister, Marie Maynard of Fresno, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Private service was held.
