Betty was raised in Leopold, Missouri, and Jackson, and lived for some time in St. Louis and Fenton, Missouri. She returned to Jackson with her husband and children because of health issues and to be closer to extended family.

She was a faithful, longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish in Jackson.
For over 50 years, she endured the effects of Crohn's disease, all the while successfully raising her children, enjoying her grandchildren and pursuing all of her responsibilities as a wife and mother.
Loving survivors include her husband of 51 years, Michael Elfrink; a son, Stephen Elfrink of Lenexa, Kansas; two daughters, Leann (Rob) Hendrix of Cape Girardeau and Katherine Elfrink of Jackson; 12 grandchildren, Samantha, Nathan and Mollie Elfrink, Elaine, Robert, Matthew, Philip, Lydia, Annelise and Cecilia Hendrix, Ashley Miles and Ryder Barnes; and a sister, Brenda (Norman) Grass of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
