SIKESTON -- Betty Byrd, 69, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, April 20, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Sikeston, daughter of W.A. and Amanda Elizabeth Hale Crowell. She and Ed Byrd were married Aug. 15, 1942.
Byrd had worked at Sikeston Wal-Mart 14 years, and was a member of Tanner Street Church of God.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James Byrd of St. Louis; five daughters, Phyllis Blieser of Falls Church, Va., Garnette Catlin of Kansas City, Dianne Turner of Boston, Mass., Sharon Stark and Myra Byrd of St. Louis; three sisters, Louise Lacey of Dexter, Ruthie Crowell of Kansas City, Edna Mulcahy of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tanner Church, with the Revs. Carl Addison and Roy Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
