Mrs. Betty B. Stockman of Cape Girardeau passed away at St. Francis Medical Center on Monday, April 19, 1999. She was 74 years old.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1925 at Cape Girardeau, the daughter of William and Inez Floy Boswell Butler. She married Charles H. Stockman on Aug. 1, 1947 at Jackson.

Mrs. Stockman was a retired salesperson from F. W. Woolworth and Buckner-Ragsdale. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and was a graduate of Cape Central High School.

She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Stockman of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Chuck Stockman of DeSoto, Mo. and William K. Stockman of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Donald K. Butler of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren, Brent William Stockman of Washington, D.C., Brock Allen Stockman of Washington, D.C., Tara Rene Holstay of Chambersburg, Pa. and Michele Nicole Holstay of Chambersburg, Pa; two great-grandchildren, Nickolas Holstay and Zore Rene Holstay.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999 at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, the Rev. David Pringle officiating. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
