SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bettie L. Chronister, 77, of Lake City, Ark., formerly of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born on May 17, 1927, in Sikeston, daughter of Henry and Fannie Roush Bolden. She was married to Howard Chronister. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1963...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bettie L. Chronister, 77, of Lake City, Ark., formerly of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark.

She was born on May 17, 1927, in Sikeston, daughter of Henry and Fannie Roush Bolden.

She was married to Howard Chronister. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1963.

She worked for over 20 years for the American Electric Company in Jonesboro, was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro and a former member of the Junior Auxiliary at St. Bernards Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Michael B. Chronister of Paragould and Matthew Chronister of Riverside, Calif.; a daughter, Melissa Langston of Madison, Miss.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paragould, Ark. The Rev. Michael Sutton will officiate.
