Betsy Jester

Betsy Jester, a beloved former caretaker and member of the United Pentecostal Church in Oran, passed away at 88. Funeral services will be held on July 19 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel.

Betsy Jester, daughter of William and Dorch Jester, was born Oct. 19, 1935, in Oran and departed her life Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee at the age of 88 years.

She was a former caretaker in Scott County for several years and a member of United Pentecostal Church in Oran.

Survivors include one brother, Lloyd (Marion) Jester of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by two brothers, Garrett and Harold Jester; and two sisters, Kathrine Miller and Brenda Taylor.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, July 19, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Funeral service will be at noon Friday, July 19, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Flanagin officiating. Interment will follow in Morley Cemetery.
