Bessie Genevieve Sneed, 89, formerly of Chaffee, Mo., and Scott City, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at Broadview Nursing Home in Maryland Heights, Mo.
She was born Jan. 27, 1913, in Charleston, Mo., daughter of Samuel Benjamin and Mary Magdalene Brown Thompson. She and William Robert "Bob" Sneed were married May 22, 1936, in Scott City. He died Oct. 27, 1980.
Sneed was owner and operator of Paladora and also Sneed's Drive Inn. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, VFW Auxiliary 6407, Council of Catholic Women, and Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
Survivors include two brothers, Elbert Thompson of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Harold Thompson of St. Ann, Mo.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. David Coon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
