SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Bessie McKinney, 93, of Scott City died Monday, June 18, 2001, at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryvillle, Mo.
She was born May 12, 1908, in Anna, Ill., daughter of Will and Louvina Boyer Nicholson. She first married John E. Gearing, who died Oct. 14, 1962. She and John Jefferson McKinney were married June 3, 1968, at Scott City. He died April 17, 1981
McKinney had been a cook at Scott City schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Stilley of Harrisburg, Ill.; two daughters, Vicki Winchester of Jackson, Mo., Ann West of Perryville; a sister, Louetta Schaubel of Owatonna, Minn.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Terry Eades officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
