St. LOUIS -- Bessie Marie Brenneisen, 97, of south St. Louis County, formerly of Cape Girardeau and Scott City, died Thursday, June 27, 1996, at her home. She was born Aug. 18, 1898, at Benton, Ill., daughter of Michael and Laura Rapp Valentine. She married Leo Falentine Brenneisen June 5, 1916. He died in 1980...

St. LOUIS -- Bessie Marie Brenneisen, 97, of south St. Louis County, formerly of Cape Girardeau and Scott City, died Thursday, June 27, 1996, at her home.

She was born Aug. 18, 1898, at Benton, Ill., daughter of Michael and Laura Rapp Valentine.

She married Leo Falentine Brenneisen June 5, 1916. He died in 1980.

Survivors include two daughters, Bessie Marie Webb and Sister Marie Cecilia Brenneisen, no addresses given; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Fey Funeral Home in south St. Louis County after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Three priests will officiate, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
