JACKSON, Mo. -- Bessie Geraldine Joyce, 85, of Jackson died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Jackson Manor. She was born Oct. 18, 1915, at Chaffee, Mo., daughter of Charles and Flora Ann Morrow Mason. She first married Walter Burgfeld, who died in 1944. She and James Joyce were married in 1949 at Piggott, Ark...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Bessie Geraldine Joyce, 85, of Jackson died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Jackson Manor.

She was born Oct. 18, 1915, at Chaffee, Mo., daughter of Charles and Flora Ann Morrow Mason. She first married Walter Burgfeld, who died in 1944. She and James Joyce were married in 1949 at Piggott, Ark.

Joyce worked 12 years at International Shoe Co. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and a women's circle, and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles Joyce of Jackson; and a daughter, Flora Hendricks of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller, with the Rev. Richard Northcutt officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
