EAST PRAIRIE -- Bessie Marie Grogan, 61, of East Prairie died Thursday, June 4, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 26, 1937, in East Prairie, daughter of Charles Claude and Florence Roper Brown. She and Milton Lee "Mutt" Grogan were married Nov. 14, 1953, in Corinth, Miss. He died Dec. 13, 1997.
Grogan lived most of her life in Mississippi County. She was retired from Brown Shoe Co., and was a member of St. James General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Gary Grogan of East Prairie; a brother, William "Digger" Brown of East Prairie; a sister, Janie Allison of Brawley, Calif.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers, a sister, and a grandson.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Ed Jolley officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
