OLMSTED, Ill. -- Bessie E. Cauhorn, 82, of Olmsted died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at her home.
She was born March 31, 1922, at Cairo, Ill., daughter of Arthur and Elva Ford Shepherd.
Cauhorn was a retired cook for the former St. Mary's Hospital at Cairo.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Latham of Olmsted; six sons, Arthur Helton of Cairo, Norman Helton of Lancaster, S.C., Jerry Helton of Johnston City, Ill., Wayne Helton of Olmsted, Dale Helton of Metropolis, Ill., Gary Helton of Smithland, Ken.; two sisters, Jeanette Land of Bourbonnais, Ill., Betty Murphy of Plaquemine, La.; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Helton and Jack Cauhorn; two sons; and three brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home at Mounds, Ill.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. J.C. Yeargin officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Pulaski, Ill.
