Beryl Taylor, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Chateau Girardeau. He was born June 8, 1927, in St. Louis to Claude Everett and Mayme Jane Chappell Taylor. Beryl attended College High School in Cape Girardeau and graduated in 1945. This is where he met his future wife, Rosina Festine Durbin, and they were married Feb 12, 1948. Beryl Taylor, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Chateau Girardeau.

He was born June 8, 1927, in St. Louis to Claude Everett and Mayme Jane Chappell Taylor.

Beryl attended College High School in Cape Girardeau and graduated in 1945. This is where he met his future wife, Rosina Festine Durbin, and they were married Feb 12, 1948. She passed away in February 2006.

Beryl worked on the family farm until the early 1950s. He was then the warehouse manager and later a salesperson at Biederman's Furniture store. He was a driver for Commercial Transport and R.B. Potashnick. He was a bookkeeper for Shell Oil. Beryl had a long career with Arkansas Best Freight as a dispatcher at the Cape Girardeau terminal and later as a driver in Little Rock, Arkansas. After retiring from ABF, he worked with NAPA Auto Parts and Enterprise Rental Car. He moved back to Cape Girardeau in 2016.

Beryl is survived by his three children, Paul Steven (Sally) Taylor, Michael Beryl (Marcia) Taylor and Terri Taylor (Dale) Rothwell; three grandchildren, Leah (Andy) Wenger, Shawn (Kim) Taylor and Lawrence (Mirinda) Armstrong; and two great-grandchildren, Leo Lawrence Armstrong and Liam Taylor Armstrong. He also has many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Dwight Taylor, Dick Taylor and Evelyn Matlock.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the funeral home, with Pastor Charles Buck officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Beryl Taylor's name may be made to Chateau Girardeau, 3120 Independence St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
