SIKESTON -- Beryl E. Houchin, 88, of Sikeston, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1992, at Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1903, at Bloomfield, daughter of Chester and Stella Poe Freeman. She and Roy C. Houchin were married Nov. 24, 1922, at Bloomfield. He died Sept. 14, 1972...

SIKESTON -- Beryl E. Houchin, 88, of Sikeston, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1992, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born Oct. 28, 1903, at Bloomfield, daughter of Chester and Stella Poe Freeman. She and Roy C. Houchin were married Nov. 24, 1922, at Bloomfield. He died Sept. 14, 1972.

Houchin taught at Bloomfield School for many years. She was a member of West Pleasant Valley Methodist Church near there.

Survivors include a son, John Houchin of Sikeston; a daughter, Lucille Koeppel of Montgomery, Ala.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at West Pleasant Valley Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles Buck officiating.
