DEXTER, Mo. -- Bertie Lou Johnson, 77, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at her home.
She was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Patterson, Ark., daughter of the late Albert Nathaniel and Cora Elizabeth Tippy Owens. She and J.W. Johnson were married Oct. 4, 1947, in Piggott, Ark.
Mrs. Johnson had lived in Dexter since 1960. She and her husband had owned Johnson Refrigeration before retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jason Johnson of Dexter; two daughters, Rhonda Hall of Dexter and Jeanine Bomar of Jackson; two brothers, Warren Owens of Farmington, Mo., and Bobby Owen of Steele, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Marie Atnip; and three brothers, Revis, Doyle and Robert Owens.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Vail officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery.
