POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Bertie J. Crider, 81, of Poplar Bluff was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Pemiscot County, Mo., the daughter of James and Lula Guise Ward, and passed away Nov. 23, 2011, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
Bertie had worked as an LPN at Doctors' Hospital in Poplar Bluff for 15 years. She attended the Southside Assembly of God Church in Poplar Bluff.
Bertie and Eugene Johns were united in marriage, and he preceded her in death in 1975. She married William Crider on Oct. 5, 1979, in Scott City, and he survives.
Survivors include her husband of Poplar Bluff; a stepdaughter, Deborah Crider of Jonesboro, Ark.; two grandchildren, Vanessa Viehe of Dallas and Jasmine Viehe of Skagway, Alaska; a half-brother, Ewing West of Phoenix; and a sister, Irene Griten of Blytheville, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Linda Johns and Patricia Kren.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Mo.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Lemons officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
