On Dec. 27, 2012, Bertha G. Seyer, 75, of Oak Ridge was called home by our heavenly father. She was born March 11, 1937, in Uniontown, Mo., to John and Bridget Erzfeld Meyer.
She and Andrew J. "Junior" Seyer were married July 2, 1960, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek, Mo.
Bertha was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek, and she worked as a cook's assistant for many years for the Oak Ridge R-6 School District.
She was a member of the Lamplighters [FCE] extension club. She also was a 4-H Club leader and enjoyed gardening, raising her chickens and watching birds.
Loving survivors include three sons, Andrew "Sonny" (Lisa A.) Seyer III, and their children Jessica, Kaycie and Rachel of Oak Ridge, James (Lisa L.) Seyer, and children Hunter and Hayden of Oak Ridge and Chester (Kristi) Seyer, and their children Ethan, Chelsea and Taylor of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Theresa Seyer and Mary Seyer of Oak Ridge and Verla (Bob) Becnel, and their children Madison and Reagan of Imperial, Mo.; two brothers, Bernard Meyer of Perryville, Mo., and Clarence Meyer of Uniontown; three sisters, Mary "Marie" Clements of Biehle, Mo., Helen Giesler of Ozora, Mo., and Antonia Ponder of Apple Creek; and a sister-in-law, Dottie Meyer of Frohna, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years and a brother, Frederick Meyer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with parish prayer service at 7 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Interment will be in Goshen Cemetery in Oak Ridge.
