JONESBORO, Ill. -- Bertha Mayberry, 104, of rural Jonesboro died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at her home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1899, in Anna, Ill., daughter of Albert and Adeline Bess Hinkle. She and William Mayberry were married April 7, 1918, in Union County, Ill. He preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1982.
Mrs. Mayberry was a member of Valley Mission Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Dainora Mayberry of Valdosta, Ga., David and Shelby Mayberry and Floyd and Vicki Mayberry of Jonesboro; three daughters, Mildred Wright and Geraldine McLane of Jonesboro, Helen Keesee of Scott City; two daughters-in-law, Gracie Mayberry and Jo Ann Mayberry of Jonesboro; 30 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by four sons, Sherman, William, Robert and Albert Mayberry, all of Jonesboro.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Herbert Wilson and Cletus McLane officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.
