FRIEDHEIM, Mo. -- Bertha W. Kester, 94, of Friedheim died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 19, 1906, at Tilsit, Mo., daughter of August and Wilhmenia Sperling Aherns. She and Albert Kester were married Jan. 19, 1936.
Kester worked at the former tobacco factory in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry Kester of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter, Shirley Kinder of Burfordville, Mo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo., from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church, with the Revs. David Burge and Adam Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
