BERTHA KAUFMANN

Bertha W. Kaufmann, of 1931 Good Hope, died Saturday, May 16, 1992 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was 84.

She was born July 3, 1907 in Tilsit, the daughter of Herman and Minnie Sternberg Meier.

She married Christian Kaufmann on Nov. 16, 1930. He preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1965,

She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau.

She worked at the International Shoe Factory and at Southeast Missouri State University as a cook and housekeeper.

Survivors are two daughters, Darlene Dow and Norma Trickey, both of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Anna Lange of Whitewater; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

One son, one sister and one brother also preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Cracraft Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The Revs. James G. Caughlan and Ernest Jordan will officiate.

Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery at Tilsit.
