GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Bertha Rushing Dycus, 87, of Metropolis, Ill., formerly of Grand Chain, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
She was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Massac County, Ill., daughter of Albert and Martha Staton Rushing. She first married Robert Mann. She later married Johnnie Dycus. Both preceded her in death.
Dycus was a member of Twin City Baptist Church in Mishawaka, Ind., and Lower Salem Baptist Church in Metropolis.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Schnaare of Grand Chain; two stepsons, Waymond and Gentry Dycus of Mishawaka; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak, Ill., from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Flo Patrick will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Grand Chain.
