BERTHA C. SCHARENBERG

Bertha C. Scharenberg, 80, Cape Girardeau Route 1, died Friday, Jan. 21, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born April 12, 1913 in Glennon, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Schulte Spooler. She and Herman Frank Scharenberg were married May 24, 1944. He died June 19, 1974.

Scharenberg was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, and St. Ann Sodality.

Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Mitchem of Oran, Dorothy Walker and Bonnie Scheffer of Sikeston; two brothers, John Spooler of Chaffee, Albert Spooler of California; three sisters, Liz Reischman and Agnes Moore of Oran, Mary Hinkebein of Wentzville; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and granddaughter.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Church. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran after 4 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be at 7.
