BENTON, Mo. -- Bertha Bles-Meyer, 92, of Newton, Massachusetts, formerly of Benton and St. Louis, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014.
She was born Feb. 23, 1922, to Edward and Clara Scherer Bles.
Bertha was the beloved wife for 67 years of John I. Meyer (deceased); and loving mother of Pamela Love of Dallas, Linda Hamil of Farmington, Missouri, and John I. (Laura) Meyer Jr. of Newton. She had nine grandchildren, Anna Love Usry, Kathryn Love Pfleger and Daniel Love, all of Dallas, Andrew Hamil, Clara Hamil and Patrick Hamil of Farmington, Diana Meyer Dunn of Sarasota, Florida, Dr. John I. Meyer III of Garden City, New York, and Henry Meyer of Boston; three great-grandchildren, Landon Usry, Ellis Usry and Kylie Love of Dallas; two sisters, Mary (Alfred) Westrich of Cape Girardeau and Margaret Whalen of Rockville, Maryland.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
