BERTA JANE SCHUERENBERG

SIKESTON -- Berta Jane Schuerenberg, 48 years old, of Sikeston, died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center here.

She was born Oct. 7, 1942, in Sikeston, daughter of Bert McWaters and Deloys Mitchell McWaters. Her mother, of Sikeston, survives.

She married Herbert A. Schuerenberg Jr. Aug. 9, 1968, at Canalou. He survives.

She taught English at Sikeston High School for 20 years and coached the girls varsity tennis team for four years.

She was a member of Clayton Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school.

She was graduated from Sikeston High School in 1960 and from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau in 1968.

Other survivors are a son, Rick Schuerenberg, and a grandson, Hunter Austin Schuerenberg, both of Sikeston.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Adrian Parker, pastor of Clayton Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
