OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Bert Ellis Lingle, 81, of Olive Branch died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1924, at Tamms, Ill., son of Ellis Glen and Mae Izetta Powles Lingle. He married Mary Vaughn.
Lingle was a self-employed carpenter.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Teddy Lingle of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Bonnie Harris of Pulaski, Tenn.; a brother, Richard Lingle of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill., with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating.
Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
