BERT HOWARD

PAINTON -- Graveside service for Bert L. Howard of Painton will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance. The Rev. Fred Ritter will officiate.

There is no visitation.

Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.

Howard, 79, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Advance Nursing Center.

He was born March 22, 1918, at Charleston, son of Charles O. and Jessie Odom Howard. He and Edith Burgess Bock were married Aug. 11, 1950, in Advance.

Howard was a retired auto mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patti Barks of Rolla; three brothers, Jackie Howard of Texas, Charles Howard of Warsaw, Billy Howard of Bloomfield; four sisters, Bonnie Lennington of Jackson, Dana Irwin of Perkins, Ella Brewer of Marion, Ill., Virginia Osburn of Arizona; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
