BERT GEORGE

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Bert M. George of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Howard Myers and Billy Harbison will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

George, 82, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Tennessee, son of Charlie and Hattie Craig George.

George moved to Sikeston 20 years ago from East Prairie.

Survivors include two sons, Billy George of Sikeston, Teddy George of Columbia; four daughters, Virginia Howell, Donna Malloy and Carrie Hancy, all of Sikeston, Beth Hutcheson of Bell City; a brother, Ray George of Florida; two sisters, Louise Hill of Murray, Ky., Ovella Owens of Cadiz, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, a brother, two sisters, four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
