MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Berniece Crites, age 94, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 31, 1916 ,at Marquand, Mo., daughter of Arch and Zelma Killian Long. She and Gilbert Crites were married July 6, 1935, and he passed away on July 24, 1988.
Berniece was a homemaker and a member of Post Oak Church.
Survivors include six sons, LeeRoy Crites of Valley Park, Mo., Linard Crites of Sedgewickville, Bob Crites of Sauget, Ill., Carl Crites of Marble Hill, John and Gary Crites, both of Perryville, Mo.; two daughters, Marilyn Thele and Carolyn Fay Crites, both of Marble Hill; one brother, David Long of Marquand; one sister, Glenda Grindstaff of Knob Lick, Mo.; 29 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren ;and several great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband Gilbert; her parents; one son, Jerry; three brothers, Leon, Harold and Clyde; and two sisters. Alene Devenport and Faye Olsen.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday at tLiley Funeral Home in Patton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Ray Mills and Pastor Vernon Long officiating. Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery near Patton.
