PERRYVILLE -- Bernie Joseph Ruch Sr., 81, of Perryville died Monday, April 24, 2000, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1919, at Silver Lake, son of Moritz and Mary Richardet Ruch. He and Lahoma E. Barron were married Aug. 20, 1947, in St. Louis.
Ruch had been a welder at St. Louis Ship Co. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Ruch of Ste. Genevieve, Verna Poppenhagen of Hinckley, Ill.; two sons, Bernard Ruch of Perryville, Kenneth Ruch of St. Charles; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30-10:20 a.m. Parish wake is at 6 p.m. today, followed by VFW service at 6:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
