SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bernice Hoppe, 83, of Sikeston died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at her home. She was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., daughter of Franklin and Beulah Burton Armstrong. She was married to Lloyd A. Hoppe. He preceded her in death in November 1973. She later married John Pyatt. He preceded her in death in March 1989...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bernice Hoppe, 83, of Sikeston died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at her home.

She was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., daughter of Franklin and Beulah Burton Armstrong.

She was married to Lloyd A. Hoppe. He preceded her in death in November 1973. She later married John Pyatt. He preceded her in death in March 1989.

She was a member of United Church of God in Cape Girardeau. She was a licensed practical nurse, having worked at Sikeston Regional Center before retiring and was a volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center for 12 years.

Survivors include four sons, Richard A. Hoppe of Indianapolis, Ind., Donald L. Hoppe of Plainview, Texas, Dennis M. Hoppe of St. Louis, and Robert F. Hoppe of Sikeston; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
