Funeral service for Bernice Marie Emma Beatte, 307 Franklin, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Brant Hazlett will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Beatte, 81, died Monday, Jan. 29, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Fults, Ill., daughter of Charles H. and Minnie Sickmeyer Koch. She and Archie A. Beatte were married Aug. 10, 1935, in Waterloo, Ill. He died Sept. 27, 1974.

Beatte was a foreman at Convey-Heel in St. Louis and Cuba, operated restaurants in Indian Hills and Cuba, and at Pine Bluff Shores on Kentucky Lake. After moving to Cape Girardeau she was a hostess at Holiday Inn and Victorian Inn 15 years. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Archie Beatte of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Charles Koch of Illinois, Alvin Koch of Kimberling City, Gus Koch of Columbia, Ill.; a sister, Irene Lange of St. Louis, and two grandchildren, Brian Beatte of Cape Girardeau and Sherry Bedsworth of Sacramento, Calif., whom she helped raise.
