Bernice A. Burton, 57, of 2305 Lombardo, died Friday, March 6, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 1, 1934, in New Hamburg to Mike and Caroline Vogel Urhahn.
She married Gene Burton in Oran on July 24, 1954. He survives, along with two sons, Gene A. Burton and Rick C. Burton, both of Cape Girardeau.
Other survivors include two brothers, Francis Urhahn and Charles Urhahn, both of Oran; one sister, Delores LeGrand of Florrissant, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Burton was a member of St. Vincents de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
She worked at the St. Mary's Day Center and later at the Early Childhood Center, both in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons South Sprigg Street Chapel. Parish prayers will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the chapel. There will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincents de Paul Church, with Father Ron Hoye officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
