PERRYVILLE -- Bernard L. "Barney" Schnurbusch Sr., 73, of Perryville died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, in the Emergency Room at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 10, 1924, at Apple Creek, son of Benjamin and Ida Leible Schnurbusch. He and Bernice G. Bingenheimer were married March 31, 1951.
Schnurbusch retired as a foreman with International Shoe Co. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 133, and charter member of the Sportsman Club. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sidney Hemmann of Perryville; a son, Bernard "Bernie" Schnurbusch Jr. of Perryville; two brothers, Robert Schnurbusch of Longtown, Elmer Schnurbusch of Perryville; a sister, Geraldine Lauck of Apple Creek; four grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30-8:30 a.m. An American Legion wake will be held at 7 tonight.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
