PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Bernard J. Meyer, 84, of Perryville died Friday, May 11, 2018, at his home.
He was born May 17, 1933, in Uniontown, Missouri, the son of John and Bridget Erzfeld Meyer. He and Rosie Robinson were married Oct. 5, 1957. She preceded him in death May 13, 1994.
Bernard worked at Mississippi Lime as a rock crusher and at Perry County Co-Op, and he was a farmer. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include a son and two daughters, Bonnie (Jack) Hanson, Dana (Michael) Robins and Jamie Meyer and fiance Teresa Grebing, all of Perryville; a brother and two sisters, Helen Giesler of St. Mary, Missouri, and Antonia Ponder and Clarence Meyer, both of Perryville; five grandchildren, Amy (Robert Statler) Webb, John Hanson, Mark (Kinzie) Hanson, Ryan Robins and Natasha (Caleb) Stueve; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debbie; a brother, Fred Meyer; and two sisters, Mary "Marie" Clements and Bertha Seyer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, with a Catholic wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, with a rosary at 8:30 a.m.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred for Meals on Wheels, Kindred Hospice or Pyramid Home Health Services.
