CAIRO, Ill. -- Bernard E. Cooper, 82, of Cairo, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 1994, at his residence.

He was born March 6, 1911, at Oscar, Ky., son of Julian and Almary Yancey Cooper.

He was a retired truck driver for Martin Oil Co., where he worked for 25 years.

Cooper was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Cairo, and the North Ballard Masonic Lodge 537 AF&AM in Bandana, Ky.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Cooper of Cairo; a son, Allen Cooper of Winfield, Mo.; a daughter, Beverly Pickett of La Center, Ky.; a sister, Adeline Kinsey of Bandana, Ky.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo, with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery at Olive Branch, Ill.
