Bernard "Doc" Heath of 1533 William St. died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was 86. He was born July 7, 1911, in Lobelville, Tenn., the son of Andrew Jackson and Rebecca Baugus Heath. He married Etta B. Stewart Dec. 24, 1937, in Helena, Ark. She died Jan. 29, 1992...

Bernard "Doc" Heath of 1533 William St. died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was 86.

He was born July 7, 1911, in Lobelville, Tenn., the son of Andrew Jackson and Rebecca Baugus Heath. He married Etta B. Stewart Dec. 24, 1937, in Helena, Ark. She died Jan. 29, 1992.

He was a truck driver, first for Kimbel Truck Lines, then for Delta Truck Lines and finally retired from ABF.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the Teamsters Union and was a member of the Sunday school class at First Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by three sons, Bernard Heath Jr. and Tom Heath of Cape Girardeau, and Melvin Heath of Versailles; two daughters, Carolyn Woetzel of Arlington, Texas, and Candy Coleman of Kansas City; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. William Burke officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park.
