ORAN -- Bernard "Ben" Sietman, 97, of Oran, died Saturday, April 12, 1997, at Chafee Nursing Center.
He was born June 26, 1899, in Bishop Creek, Ill., the son of Bernard H. and Thresia M. Krogman Sietman. He and Theresa Le Grand were married in Sept., 1926 in Oran, and she preceded him in death in April, 1957.
He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, St. Joseph Sodality and Oran Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, Clyde and Joseph Sietman both of Oran; two daughters, Mary Jane Waters of Murray, Ky., and Rita Pearl of Jonesboro, Ill.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at 4:30 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with Rev. Lewis Hejna officiating. Interment will be in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
