Benjamin Franklin Jones, 76, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 1994, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born July 8, 1918, in Whitewater, son of Columbus J. and Dorotha Ruffner Jones. He and Helen D. Lee were married Oct. 26, 1940, in Jackson. She died Jan. 22, 1994.

Jones was a 1939 graduate of Randles High School.

He was a truck driver with ABF Trucking Co. 16 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge at Whitewater. Jones was a former scoutmaster, former member of Delta School Board, and former president of Delta Rotary Club. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Jones of Florissant, Frank Jones of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Jennifer Pyatt of Chesterfield, Susie Nall and Elizabeth Seesing of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Edgar Jones of Jackson, Raymond Jones of Woodburn, Ore.; 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
