JACKSON -- A private service for Benjamin Arthur King Sr. of Heritage Gardens in Jackson was held Sunday at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Julius Mills officiated.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau was in charge of arrangements.

King, 82, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997.

He was born April 13, 1915, in Rule, Ark., son of Charles and Molly Simpson King. He and Beulah V. Lynch were married May 13, 1949, in Arkansas.

King was the owner and operator of King Automotive in Jackson more than 25 years, and worked for Missouri Barge Line more than 10 years.

Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; four sons, George King of Springfield, Floyd King of Cape Girardeau, Benny King of Jackson, Michael King of Kansas City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
