Belma Whitticre, age 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sept. 30, 2000, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Sept. 8, 1904, in Dutchtown, Mo., the daughter of Albert and Amanda Miller Sander. She and Lester Whitticre were married Jan. 10, 1925, in Cape Girardeau at Trinty Lutheran parsonage. He died in October 1991.
She was a homemaker, an avid card player and member of Trinity Lutheran church. She was a member of Junior Ladies Aide and served as treasurer of that committee for many years. She was also a member of Women's Missionary League.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lester Paul and Verna Whitticre of Cape Girardeau; and a grandson, Larry and his wife, Melinda Whitticre of Cape Girardeau; and great-grandchildren, Randy and Jennifer Whitticre of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Albert Sander of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Erna Spalding of Cape Girardeau.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Mills of Union, Mo.
Friends may call from 4:30 until 7 p.m. Monday at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel on Tuesday, Oct. 3, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
