WILLARD, Mo. -- Bebe Florence Watkins, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Koch, was born Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1930, in Cape Girardeau and died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, surrounded by her family as she went to be with the Lord.
She was united in marriage to Billy Watkins, also of Cape Girardeau, on Oct. 9, 1954, and shared her life with him for over 50 years. She was the adoptive mother of three children, Joyce Floyd, Marty Lambeth and Walter Watkins. She had eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could.
Bebe was a longtime resident of Willard, where she lived most of her life. Her kind, gentle spirit touched many lives in her 90 years of life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy; daughter, Marty Lambeth; grandson, David Watson; brother, Douglas Koch; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Floyd of Springfield, Missouri; son, Walter (Barbara) Watkins of Marshfield, Missouri; her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Bebe's life took place Friday at her home in Willard. Prayers and scripture readings were led by Pastor Mitch Fisher. Memories and reflections about her were shared by friends and family alike for over two hours.
Following cremation, Bebe's final resting place will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her behalf to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
Holden Cremation and Funeral Service in Sparta, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
