EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Beauton Eleta Long of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dave Bowden will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
Long, 86, died Wednesday, May 27, 1992, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born May 18, 1906, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of Robert Blaine and Delia Jane Klene Long.
Long was owner/operator of Beauton's Drug Store here 40 years. She was a member of First Christian Church and active in its Ladies Tuesday Morning Prayer Group. She did benefit work with the Lions and Kiwanis Clubs, and was a member of Missouri Pharmacists Association.
The East Prairie High School yearbook was dedicated to her in 1963, and in 1974 she was named to Who's Who in Missouri.
She was named East Prairie Citizen of the Year in 1978, won the Jefferson Award for outstanding public service in 1984, and was grand marshal of the 4th of July parade in 1991.
She is survived by a sister, Thelma Stilwell of Sikeston, nieces and nephews.
