CAIRO, Ill. -- Beatrice Young, 88, of Cairo, formerly of Pulaski, Ill., died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at the Daystar Care Center in Cairo.
She was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Tunica, Miss., daughter of Tobe and Emma Kimble. She and Sullivan Young were married in April 1930.
She served as a member of Edward/Wynn Chapel in Pulaski, she served on the Mother's Board and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Young was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Marvell, Ark., for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Mae Houston of Dayton, Ohio; two sons, James Young of Decatur, Ill., Norris Young of Pulaski; a sister, Lucille Edmonds of Cairo; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, a son, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Edward/Wynn Chapel Methodist Church in Pulaski.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Carl D. Joyner officiating.
Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
