ESSEX -- Beatrice Davis, 63, of Essex, died Sunday, July 2, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 3, 1931, in Aromell, Ark., daughter of Willie B. and Grace Minnifield Hester. She and John Henry Davis were married in 1946, at Charleston.
Davis had lived in Essex the past 46 years. She was a social worker with the local DAEOC Office. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church in Gray Ridge.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Tommy, John Jr., and Larry Davis of St. Louis, Randy Davis of Memphis, Tenn., Ricky Davis of Essex; seven daughters, Barbara Tippett of St. Louis, Gwender and Michelle Davis of Essex, Carolyn Weaver of Lorman, Miss., Jackie Warfield and Sherry Davis of Sikeston, Janice McFerren of New Madrid; her mother, Grace Barber of Essex; a brother, Lee Hester of Essex; two sisters, Christine Combs of Parma, Volla Bonner of St. Louis; 30 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter after 11 a.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. Ricky Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
