SIKESTON -- Bernice W. "Bea" Gilliland, 73, of Sikeston, died Monday, Jan. 22, 1996, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.
She was born May 27, 1922, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of Dean and Minnie Lee Adams Gilliland.
Gilliland had been a beauty school instructor and secretary at Sikeston Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church and St. Mark's Chapter Order of Eastern Star, both in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Loftin of St. Louis, Michael Rodgers of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Jane Nicholas of Jackson, Dixie Hoxworth of Conway, Ark.; a brother, Robert Gilliland of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Betty Jenkins of Indianapolis, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and a friend, Ollie Cole of Sikeston.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, conducted by St. Mark OES.
