SIKESTON -- Basil S. Gaddis, 81, of Sikeston, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1993, at Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born Nov. 10, 1911, in Puxico, son of Charley Ernest and Myrtle Casey Gaddis. He and Merline Shipley were married April 1, 1939, at Kennett.
Gaddis was a salesman with Lewis Furniture, and member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Russell Gaddis of Poplar Bluff, Charles Gaddis of Sikeston; four daughters, Judy Foushee of Bloomfield, Mary Cornwell of Sikeston, Janice McCanless of Union, Brenda Lindsey of Sikeston; a sister, Hazel Watson of Senath; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Adams will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
