SCOTT CITY -- Graveside service for Basil F. Watkins of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mounds National Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Home at Scott City is in charge of arrangements.

Watkins, 68, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 1994, at his home.

He was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Kirbyville, Texas, son of John Meeker and Virginia Julia Ashlin Watkins.

Watkins was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Watkins of Pleasanton, Calif., Johnny Watkins of Sikeston, Mike Watkins of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Shiela Saunders of Bakersfield, Calif., Connie Watkins of Enfield, Conn.; three brothers, John Watkins of Paradise, Calif., Dean Watkins of DeQueen, Ark., Glen Watkins of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Helen Watkins of Bakersfield, Betty Timmons of Baker, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
