Barbara Ann Wilson, 81, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Cairo, Illinois, entered her eternal heavenly home Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living.
She was born June 22, 1938, in Mounds, Illinois, to William and Pauline Kekow Niestrath. She married Terry Wilson on July 29, 1955. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 2007.
Barbara greeted everyone with her great smile. She possessed the kindest soul and was the sweetest person you could ever hope to meet. She worked for many years as a seamstress at the M. Snower garment factory in Cairo, as well as various jobs in health care. She loved to play piano, sharing her talent with her church family and continuing as she played for all of her friends at Auburn Creek.
She is survived by her children, Christopher L. Wilson, Kimberly A. (Joe) Carter and Adam D. (Regina) Wilson; grandchildren, Timothy Carter, Christine Carter, Erica (Joshua) Carmack, Sean (Jessica) Wilson and Derek Adams; great-grandchildren, Thea and Samuel Carter, Katelyn, Jesse D. and Hayden Carmack; brother, William Hugh (Ann) Niestrath; and niece, Debbie (Jim) Ploesne.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Graveside inurnment for Barbara Ann Wilson will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cache Chapel Cemetery in Ullin, Illinois.
